What labour capacity does Midland Ducting have?
At present we employ up to twenty-five staff. That’s five in our office and up to twenty site staff. We are planning to increase the site staff over the next three years and increase the number of office staff accordingly.
What training do our staff receive?
All our site staff are CSCS skill card holders and on any site at least one of them will be trained in first aid. We only employ fitters that have a minimum two years experience as a fitter’s mate and five years as a fitter.
What size projects do we become involved in?
We generally work on projects where the ductwork package is around £100 - £150k, although we have worked on projects from £200k to £350k. We are comfortable working on projects up to £1 million.
Who are our customers and what do they say about Midland Ducting Ltd.
We can supply you with references as required so that you can read what our customers say about us.
This project is larger than any project Midland Ducting has ever done, why should we use Midland Ducting on this project.
We have worked on several projects at the same time all with values ranging from £100k to £350k and have sufficient capacity to embrace much larger projects.
What experience do the owners and managers and staff have in running and working on these size projects?
As owner / managers of Midland Ducting Ltd, Mick Jenks and Martin Hicks each have over fifteen years experience of the ductwork industry. Having worked as fitters, foremen, site managers and now as owner managers for the last ten years, we feel very comfortable in taking on projects up to and around the £1m mark.
What can Midland Ducting do to save you money?
Through our experience and buying strategies we are in a position to offer you cost saving options without compromising the quality of the components or the standard of the installation.
How would the labour be structured on this project?
This would be relative to the project programme. A simple calculation, assessment of the site conditions and programme would determine the labour and supervision requirements.
How will the project be supervised?
We believe that every project is different and demands a different level of supervision. A relatively smaller straight forward project will be supervised by a working foreman. A more complex project would be supervised by a non working foreman or site manager. In either case our site staff will be supported by a member of the management team.
What is the standard lead time to produce manufacturing and working drawings?
This can be discussed on a project by project basis.
How long will it take us to get personnel on site and ductwork on site?
Once working drawings have been approved we will always have labour on site on the agreed date.
Do we have an environmental policy and what are our commitments?
Please visit our website to view or download our Environmental Policy.
Who is responsible for Health and Safety?
Claire Hornby is our health and safety manager.
Are our quotations fully compliant to the specification?
Our quotations are always fully compliant. We quote to the specification, but also offer equal or approved products. We produce a clear and concise quotation that is easy to read and well presented.
What can Midland Ducting offer that other ductwork companies cannot?
We will produce drawings for our projects as all other ductwork companies do. However, we will also, if required, produce fully co-ordinated three dimensional drawings for all services. Although initially this may appear to be expensive, it can reduce variation accounts considerably. You can call me or Martin Hicks personally on our mobiles at any time to discuss any concerns you may have regarding the project or our business.
Why use Midland Ducting?
We have been in business for ten years. We are owner managed therefore we care about our clients, our contracts and our staff. Our livelihoods depend on our business and our business depends on what our customers think of us. We will do whatever it takes to make the project run smoothly.
